Police issue fresh order on vehicles with tinted glass

The Nigeria Police have made clarification on what their officers should do on approaching vehicles using tinted glass.

Muyiwa Adejobi, a chief superintendent and spokesperson for the Force headquarters, said on Sunday that officers are not to demand tinted glass permits of affected vehicle owners.

“We have suspended issuance of tinted glass permits, so we don’t expect our men to disturb Nigerians on this.

“We are to stop any vehicle with tints, search the vehicles, and its occupants, but not to delay for not having tinted glass permits”, he tweeted.

Adejobi added that police officers on stop and search should also stop demanding customs papers from vehicle owners.

“No policeman should demand your customs papers. Except they are on joint operation, but not just on mere routine checks.

The police spokesman also urged Nigerians to report personnel who delay them for this purpose.
