Governorship poll holds March 11, 2023 – INEC
Governorship and state house of assembly elections will hold on March 11, exactly 14 days after the presidential poll would have been conducted (on Feb. 25).
The information forms part of the notice of elections released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Victor Aluko, the Director of Voter Education, INEC, stated this in a bulletin released on Monday, in Abuja.
“As contained in the Notice, the date for the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on February 25, 2023, while the election for Governorship and State Houses of Assembly will hold on Saturday, March 11, 2023,” INEC said.
INEC also urged political parties to take note that the place for delivery of nomination papers for the elective offices would be at the INEC Headquarters Maitama, Abuja, through the online portal established for the purpose.
The notice is sequel to the elections timetable INEC had published last week.
The flurry of activities by INEC comes expectedly in the wake of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari last Friday
