Ghana arrests ‘Nigerian’ man with 656 ATM cards

The Ghanaian authorities have arrested a Nigerian man with 656 Automated Machine cards of banks operating in both Ghana and Nigeria.

The man, Bachir Musa Aminou gave his nationality as a Nigeria but officials said he was carrying a Nigerien passport as at the time of arrest.

Officials of the National Intelligence Bureau arrested Bachir, on September 20, at the Kokota International Airport on his way to Dubai.

Bachir appeared in court on Thursday to answer to charges of trafficking and stealing, according to the report by Graphic.Com.Gh.

He, however, pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor urged the court to order Bachir’s remand, stating that he was a flight risk and had no fixed address.

He said his detention, more so, would help police investigations into the case.

The case comes up again on October 11, 2021.
