Four police officers killed

Some armed men have shot dead four police officers attached to the Atani Police Station, located at Ogbaru Local Government Area, in Anambra State.

Among the casualties of the early Wednesday morning incident was a female officer.

DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra Police Command, confirmed the attack.

“The hoodlums came around 1am, and unluckily for us, four police operatives paid the supreme price,” he said.

He added that the police engaged the armed men and successfully repelled them.

“We have commenced intelligence already, and we hope to unravel the persons behind the attack,” he said.
