Favour Ibama, a father of four, has been arrested by the police in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, over multiple rape allegations.
According to a report, Ibama would lure his victims to a hotel, drug and rape them, before making away with their valuables.
The lid blew over his alleged atrocities, when one of his victims sighted him at a police station and raised an alarm.
Ibama was arrested and taken to Ada George Police Station. The police said he confessed to the crime, but claimed the woman was his only victim.
Despite his denial, three other victims reportedly showed up at the station, making the same allegation against the suspect.
Meanwhile, the police said Ibama had made useful statements to them. Nnamdi Omoni, superintendent of police and spokesperson for the Rivers Police Command, confirmed Ibama’s arrest.
“What happened was that this young man, Favour Ibama, from Bakana in the Degema Local Government Area, is a serial rapist. He was arrested in connection with several cases of rape committed in different hotels”, said Omoni.
“His case is akin to the girls David West (a convict) killed in hotels. In this particular case, he didn’t kill them; he only drugged, raped and stole their valuables.
“So, in one of the cases, luck ran out on him when one of the victims identified him at a supermarket and raised the alarm. He was arrested and taken to the Ada George Police Station.
“Of course he admitted that he actually committed the offence, but denied raping other girls as alleged,” added the police spokesperson.
