A father has been arrested for causing his child’s death, in Awa Ijebu, Ogun State, on Sunday.

Arrested alongside the father were his alleged two mistresses.

According to the police, Isaac Akinbola, 50, led two women to beat up his wife, Dasola Akinbola.

During the scuffle, Dasola’s eight-months-old child fell from her grip and sustained internal injuries, leading to death.

A complaint was made to the police, leading to Akinbola and the two women’s arrest.

Police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi named the other suspects as 29-year-old Esther Olowolayemo and 30-year-old Oluwakemi Oshinbajo.

Akinbola is said to be a pastor while the other two are congregants in his church.

Dasola told the police she and her husband had disagreed over his affair with the women. To her surprise, her husband led the two women to assault her at her residence.

“While they were beating her, her eight-month-old baby, Obadiah Akinbola, fell, while her husband was urging the two women to beat her thoroughly,” the police said.

The child succumbed to his injuries on March 28, 2022, at the hospital where he was being treated.

“The remains of the child have been deposited at the General Hospital, Ijebu Igbo mortuary for autopsy.”
