EXTRA: Osinbajo slays in Ijaw attire while on Bayelsa visit

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo turned out in stunning Ijaw traditional attire as he flags off construction of the Angiama-Oporoma Bridge.

“In Bayelsa State today to, among others, flag off construction of the Angiama-Oporoma Bridge and visits to Traditional Rulers of the state,” he wrote along with a lone picture posted on Facebook.

Osinbajo is believed to nurse a presidential ambition and seems to have subtly begun consultations.

The vice president has busied himself lately with courtesy visits across the country amid other populist activities.

He had been to Kano to sympathize with bereaved parents of a five-year-old, who was kidnapped and, later, killed by her school proprietor.

He had paid commiserative visits and attended funerals of deceased traditional rulers and politicians in the southwest. Osinbajo has lately become more visible, politically. A brilliant professor, Osinbajo tends to warm hearts with his oratory skills and humour.

While he has not officially declared so, he has set his foot soldiers to work – prominent among who is Senator Babafemi Ojudu, a political adviser to the president designated to the VP office.

Osinbajo’s ambition has elicited allegation of disloyalty his political godfather, Bola Tinubu, as the latter’s supporters claim.

Tinubu, who has declared his “lifelong ambition” to rule Nigeria is believed to have nominated Osinbajo to his current job. While as Lagos State governor between 1999 and 2007,

Tinubu similarly appointed the professor of Law as his government’s attorney-general and commissioner of justice.

With enormous war chest, vast political networks, and huge number of loyalists, Tinubu remains an aspirant to beat for the APC ticket.
