Ekiti APC reps. Wunmi Ogunlola loses polling unit

The results from unit 002 in Ijero Ward ‘B’ of the All Progressives Congress leader has Hon. Wunmi Ogunlola, representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, showing a very poor outing. She recorded a massive loss of both her polling unit and ward to opposition parties.

From the results for the senate’s seat, the Social Democratic Party’s polled 131, the Peoples Democratic Party, 22 whilst the All Progressives Congress polled 14. The House of Representatives election results has the PDP garnering 118 votes; SDP 26 votes; and APC, 24.

However, it was a different outcome for the president, with the APC posting 101 votes; PDP 52; SDP, 3.

Sources alleged the APC’s poor results in the Ogunlola’s PU was due to cross-party voting by her supporters who have refused to sheath the sword since their principal lost the ticket to Hon. Biodun Omoleye, the erstwhile Chief of staff to former Governor Kayode Fayemi.

However, the APC candidates trounced opposition parties across the 11 other wards that make up Ijero Local Government.
