Edo Poly Female undergraduates arrested for drug peddling
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two female undergraduates of the Edo State Polytechnic for drug peddling.
The students are Uzen, Babalola Modupe Angel (19) and Esekhagbe Sonia (20).
A statement by the anti-narcotics agency said the women were arrested on Thursday 23rd September with 21 wraps of skunk.
Also, another woman Chioma Okocha, 25, was arrested on Friday 24th Sept while delivering 200grams of crack cocaine to a customer at an eatery in Benin.
Other seizures in Edo State were 10 bags of cannabis sativa, weighing 135kg in Amahor bush in Igueben area; 2,937 kilograms of cannabis sativa from Utese forest in Ovia North East local government area of Edo state.
Also, the NDLEA said it uncovered a hotel, JAT Suites, located in Abuja, where drugs are being sold and young ladies, camped for commercial sex.
It also said three ladies and a man were arrested at the hotel, located at 30 Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2. Substances recovered are Rohynol and paraphernalia for smoking crack cocaine.
Similar enforcement in Kaduna State yielded the arrest of Mrs. Fatima Musa, “a widow and notorious drug dealer”.
The NDLEA said Musa was arrested on Saturday, September 18, at Afana village in Zango Kataf LGA. She was alleged to be in possession of 12kg of cannabis at the time of her arrest.
The NDLEA said, “She had earlier been convicted and sentenced to six months imprisonment on 7th July 2020 following her arrest on 3rd March 2020 with 45kg of cannabis sativa.”
