Dogara quits APC, joins PDP presidential campaign council

Yakubu Dogara, the former speaker of the house of representatives, may have returned to the Peoples Democratic Party as he has named on Sunday as a member of its presidential campaign council (PCC).

Dogara, who left the PDP to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), had opposed the latter’s decision to float a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket. The APC has Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima–both Muslims–as its presidential and vice-presidential candidates respectively.

Dogara’s Northern Leaders Consultative Forum last week declared support for Atiku, signaling an end to his dalliance with the ruling party.

The former lawmaker is yet to comment on his new appointment.
