Death toll in Kaduna road accident rises to 40

The death toll from Sunday’s road accident in Saminaka area of Kaduna State has risen to 40. This is according to a report by Channels television.

Earlier, the Federal Road Safety Corps’ sector commander, Kabiru Nadabo, had said that 25 people died from the accident and 48 others, injured. Among the casualties were children.

The victims reportedly were travelling to celebrate the Muslims’ Eld El Maulud, which marks the birthday of Prophet Mohammad. The bus they were travelling on over-sped, causing it to collide with a truck.
