Cultists, six suspected kidnappers arrested in Lagos

The Lagos state police command says it arrested two cult members at the Sangotedo area of the metropolis.

Benjami Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, said that concerned residents made a distress call to the Ajah police division about some rampaging cultists.

The police, he said, arrested two of the suspected cultists and recovered locally made firearms from them.

“They are currently assisting with ongoing investigations,” he said.

In a similar development, Hundeyin said that another six suspects were arrested for kidnapping an eight-year-old child. The victim is the child of a Bureau de Change operator.

“The child was released three days later bound hands and feet in a sack. Preliminary investigation reveals that all the suspects are fellow BDC operators in the same business district of Lagos,” he stated.
