Cultism financier, other suspects arrested 

The Delta state police command says it arrested a suspected cultism financier, Joseph Ologbo and discovered an unlicensed assault rifle in his car.

Ologbo is being alleged of sponsoring a dreaded cult group, identified as Aro Baggar.

A combined team of law enforcement operatives apprehended Ologbo’s arrest at Otor community of Sapele, located in the state.

The suspect’s arrest comes in the wake of a cult rivalry clash involving the group in Sapele and Ogbara, the police said.

The police, similarly, nabbed four suspected conmen in Ogwashi-uku town, also located in the state.

They are Allison Louis, (27), from Adamawa state; Sunday David, (22); Peter Akagbai, (20)yrs from Umuokwe, and Chibuzor Elumeze,( 23).

The police said, “Exhibit recovered from the syndicate include one (1) tricycle, fifteen (15) different bank ATM cards.

“During the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to a series of fraud committed within Ogwashi-uku and Asaba metropolis with POS operators and filling stations as their major victims.

“The suspects stated that they go to filling stations, POS operators and super markets, purchase items and also make withdrawals with the ATM cards and then call their banks and give a false complaint that the transaction was not successful.

“The banks without due investigation will then wrongly debit the victims and credit the accounts of the suspects.”
