‘Ritual murderer’ fleeing from arrest in Enugu nabbed on motorcycle at Lagos-Seme border

A fleeing native doctor, Obi Levi Obieze, wanted in Enugu State in connection with the kidnapping of a teenager and two decomposing corpses discovered in his shrine, has been arrested.

Obieze was fleeing on a motorcycle, along the Lagos-Seme border, when officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) stationed at the area stopped him.

The NIS, while commenting on the arrest, said the officials identified Obieze to be the suspect declared in the kidnapping case through his National Identification Number (NIN).

A spokesperson for the NIS, Akinsola Akinlabi, said “credible intelligence” led to

Obieze’s arrest at Gbaji checkpoint, along Badagry-Seme Road. The suspect was attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle, the NIS said.

“During initial questioning, he admitted to the alleged crimes.
