Abuja parents exposed in viral video assaulting school teacher over their child threaten hell

By Adeola Atanda

A couple, who in a viral video, assaulted a school teacher has refused to back down and, instead, avowed to escalate the matter to the authorities. Cornet News had reported a vital video showing the parents, identified as Mr. and Mrs. Balogun, slapping the teacher. The parents had acted in revenge of their kid whom the teacher slapped earlier for his unruly behaviour.

In a letter written by their lawyers, Edbridge Legal, the parents alleged “sustained bullying and physical assault” and a “pattern of aggression” by the teacher, which they claimed other children confirmed. The parents also alleged that the affected teacher slapped their child three times, resulting in a “grave medical concerns to the child.”

The parents are demanding that the school principal delete the video recording of the incident from the internet, conduct an investigation into the teacher’s action, and preserve CCTV footage of their son’s classroom showing the teacher’s own assault on the child.

The parents warned that should the school fail to comply, they would “escalate the matter to the Ministry of Education, National Human Rights Commission, the Nigeria Police, and High Court of Federal Capital Territory for further legal remedies.”
