50-year-old man impregnates primary school pupil, forces her to abort

A man, identified as Mohammed, has forced a 14-year-old primary school girl to abort a pregnancy she had for him. TheCornet gathered that Mohammed took the minor to a private clinic to terminate the pregnancy without her parents’ knowledge or consent.

Mohammed’s illicit affair with the minor became known after the incident, leading to his arrest by the police.

He is currently facing trial at a court.

This medium learned that community leaders in the area have appealed to the parents of the victim to drop the case.

“Two chiefs and some opinion leaders …came to our house to plead with us to withdraw the case but we refused and insisted we want justice for my daughter,” the victim’s father Mohammed Salisu reportedly said.

The incident happened in Nyanshegu in Tamale area of Ghana. According to a local media citinewsroom.com, Ghana’s Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of the Northern Regional Police Command effected Mohammed’s arrest. The report says that Mohammed has been “charged with defilement and causing abortion”.
