3 Nigerians cocaine suppliers to Saudi Arabia arrested

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the arrest of three Nigerian cocaine suppliers to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia –Abubakar Muhammad, Abdulhakeem Muhammed Tijjani, and Muhammad Aji Shugaba. They were arrested in Kano State on 27th and 28th, May 2025.

In a statement, the NDLEA accused the trio of using pilgrims sponsored by them as drug couriers to Saudi Arabia. Two pilgrims, namely Ibrahim Umar Mustapha and Muhammad Siraj Shifado, arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano for ingesting 45 pellets of cocaine each had named the trio as their sponsors.

The NDLEA says its “investigation” showed “their sponsors as (sic) leaders of a notorious drug trafficking network, which specializes in trafficking illicit drugs to Saudi Arabia.”
