Cocaine, heroine found on Abuja-bound Chisco transport bus

Anti-narcotics operatives have intercepted an Abuja- bound Chisco luxury bus used in ferrying cocaine, heroine, and methamphetamine.

The operatives reportedly found the drugs when they stopped to search the bus along the Okene-Abuja highway on October 27th.

Found, “32.9kgs of Methamphetamine, packaged as tubers of yam; 376 grams of cocaine and 215 grams of heroin”, according to a statement issued  by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The bus driver, Chief Pascal Chigozie Nmaram, and the designated recipient, Ikenna Jude Akunne have been arrested.

The NDLEA said Akunne “confessed he was detailed to travel with the consignment to Spain the following day, October 28th, through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja. 

In another operation, the NDLEA said it arrested the village head of Gidan Abba in Bodinga local government area of Sokoto state, Abubakar Ibrahim over his involvement in drug peddling. 

As an update to its August 5 discovery of hard drugs hidden in heads of dried fish, the anti-narcotics agency a combined operation led to the arrest of 30-year-old bricklayer, Babatunde Quadri Mamowora in the Sango Ota area of Ogun state.

Equally, operatives apprehended Chukwuemeka Miracle for trafficking cocaine disguised as liquid bathing soap.
