Chelsea double down on Raheem Sterling transfer, bent on seeing Lukaka’s back

Chelsea FCare reportedly doubling down on their effort to have Manchester City forward Raheem Sterlingjoin the team.

The Premier Leaguechampions are said to be facing a challenge in agreeing on a new contract with Sterling, whose extant deal with Manchester City will expire next year.

Mirror says that Chelsea plan to offload Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan, after a disappointing year at Stamford Bridge. To seal the deal, Chelsea are demanding from Inter£21million, far less than the £97.5 million they handed the Serie A club for him.

Sending off Lukaka would help new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly crank up his club’s interest in persuading City to sell Sterling.

The good news for Lukaka is that Inter wants him back, after the club finished second place behind AC Milan in the last season.

City now face the prospect of losing the 27-year-old for nothing when his current deal expires next year.
