Buhari, security chiefs hold emergency meeting

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari will be leading an emergency security meeting on Monday.

A state house press statement confirmed this, saying that the meeting would “further review and strengthen” security network in the country.

The President would shelve his planned engagement – the commissioning of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) new Technology and Innovation Complex – to hold the security meeting.

According to the statement, Buhari would “receive briefs from the security chiefs, and interject on areas that need more attention.”

On the naira redesigning policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), President Buhari said that he approved of it.

The President expressed the hope that the “nation will gain a lot by doing so.”

“People with illicit money buried under the soil will have a challenge with this but workers and businesses with legitimate incomes will face no difficulties at all,”  Buhari said.
