Boundary dispute claims two lives in Ogun state

A boundary dispute between Iperu and Ogere, two towns in Remo division of Ogun state, has claimed two lives. The crux of the fatal fight is who between the two towns should collect tax from traders at the Toll Gate Market bordering the towns.

Violence broke out on Thursday, leading to the death of two youths from Iperu town.

A source, quoted in a report, had said, “The youths collecting the revenue for the government from this market are mainly from Ogere but Iperu youths had for a long time been agitating to take over the job because that part of the market is Iperuland. The matter didn’t start yesterday; it has been a lingering boundary dispute.

The law enforcement agents have restored calm to the troubled area.
