Boko Haram strikes in Yobe

ISWPS/Boko Haram has struck a part of Yobe State, forcing residents to flee into the bush.

Counter-terrorism soldiers are said to have repelled the attackers, resulting in heavy gun exchange. 

The incident is happening in Babangida, the headquarters of Tarmuwa Local Government council of Yobe State, according to PREMIUM TIMES.

Adamu Gidado, a resident, reportedly confirmed the heavy gunfight and stated that natives of the town have taken refuge in the woods. 

“People in Babangida have run to the bush out of fear. I saw heavy military reinforcement as I was driving back to Damaturu, ” Gidado was quoted as saying. 

Beside him, the newspaper claimed a security source equally confirmed the attack and said the military had mobilised reinforcements. 

 The full details of the incident are yet unknown.
