Atiku to present 100 witnesses against Tinubu’s victory

Abubakar Atiku, a former presidential contender, will be presenting 100 witnesses to prove his claim of winning the February 25 poll.

His’ counsel, Chris Uche, revealed this at the pre-hearing of the electoral dispute by the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC).

Uche, a senior advocate, equally said that he would take three weeks out of the statutory seven weeks to present the witnesses.

Similarly, Awa Kalu, another senior advocate and counsel to Peter Obi, said 50 witnesses would testify to their claim that Obi was the actual winner of the poll.

Kalu added he would take seven weeks to conduct the witness testimonies including experts.

TheCornet had reported that both Atiku and Obi, who were candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party have each claimed to have won the poll. They averred, individually, that should the court fail to make either the winner, it should order a revote.

INEC differed from the petitioners in its own claim. INEC insists Tinubu won the poll and its lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN, said he would present five witness testimonies to prove his case.
