Presidential hopeful Abubakar Atiku says that Arsenal FC drubbing of Real Madrid in the Wednesday night 2-1 encounter shows that the anti-Tinubu coalition would succeed, if willing participants ‘consolidate their strengths’. Cornet News reports that the English premiership side, Arsenal barreled to the last four of the Champions League with two goals from Bukayo Sake and Gabriel Martinelli in the pulsating encounter against the Spanish football side, Real Madrid.

In a thumbnail victory message, Atiku –who is an Arsenal supporter – said, “Arsenal just taught us a lesson in consolidating our strengths in a coalition vehicle. Victory is assured when we stand united.”
The serial presidential contestant, Atiku, has vowed to lead an opposition coalition to unseat incumbent President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
There are insinuations that Atiku might again contest the next presidential race, he however stated the likability of stating out of the race. In a shocking opposition to Atiku’s wish, his party – the Peoples Democratic Party – has said it would not join any coalition.
At the meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, governors under the auspices of the PDP Governors Forum, said the party as the main opposition party would rather be the one to welcome any willing person and party to its fold.
But, Atiku, in a riposte from his media adviser, Paul Ibe, disagreed with the PDP governors. He stated that, despite PDP governors’ opposition, the coalition move would stay its course to fulfil its purpose of removing President Tinubu.
