ASUU extends strike by two months

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has resolved to extend its strike action by another two months. The lecturers’ body took the decision after appraising the effects of its initial strike notice issued last month.

The body, which had its National Executive Council, NEC, on Sunday night accused the federal government of insensitivity and lies telling.

A report quoted an ASUU source as saying the union extended the strike by “eight weeks pending when the Nigerian government would find the university system worthy of the desired attention”.
