Armed robbers raid UBA, Zenith, Union bank in Edo (See Video)

Armed robbers raided four commercial banks on Thursday in Uromi, Edo State.

The affected banks are the United Bank for Africa, UBA, Zenith bank, Union bank, and Unity Bank.

In a video seen by TheCornet, the robbers were seen carrying money out of one of the banks in sacks.

The robbers were also said to have killed two policemen and five civilians during the attacks.

The armed men also attacked a police station in the Auchi area of the state.

Bello Kontong, police public relations officer (PPRO) in Edo, confirmed the attacks.

Kontong reportedly said the armed robbers used dynamite to attack the banks and police station

“There are four banks that were attacked — UBA, Zenith Bank, First Bank and Union Bank,” he said.

“We lost two police officers including one from the division that was attacked — a female constable and then a sergeant that is from Auchi in Zenith bank.

“So, the total casualties of human beings are seven — two police personnel and five civilians — including a mad man.
