Armed robbers have attacked a bullion van at the Idi-Ape area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. Updates to the incident revealed the robbers shot dead two policemen and two motorcyclists during the heist.
Some other persons reportedly sustained gunshot injuries.
The robbers were said to have made away with their loot.
The police, in their response, claimed to have “neutralized” one of the robbers while others escaped with gunshot injuries.
Ngozi Onadeko, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, stated this.
“The armed robbers engaged the police officers escorting the bullion van and in the process, an undisclosed amount of money was carted away.
“In a swift response, the police equally neutralised one of the armed robbers, while some were believed to have escaped with multiple gunshot injuries,” Onadeko claimed.
