APC’s Oyebanji wins Ekiti Governorship Election

Biodun Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, has been declared winner of Saturday’s governorship poll in the state

Oyebanji polled 187,057 votes to defeat 15 other candidates who participated in the poll. He won in 15 of the 16 Local Governments in Ekiti State.

The first runner-up is Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who garnered 82,211 votes. Trailing Oni is Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic, who got 67,457 votes.

Prof. Kayode Adebowale, the Returning Officer, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declared Oyebanji the winner, having polled the highest number of votes needed to win the ballot.
