APC makes U-turn, fixes March 25 for convention

The All Progressives Congress twice on Monday changed dates for holding its national convention. Although the party had initially fixed February 26 for the convention, it later changed it via a letter it wrote to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In the letter, the party stated that it would be organising zonal congresses and that the latest information to INEC superseded that which it gave it regarding the national convention.

The shifting of the convention kept the social media busy as concerned persons derided the party for its decision. The party, in a statement issued by its spokesperson Yekini Nabena, warned party members against deriding members of its national caretaker committee over its decision.

In a surprised move, the party subsequently released a timetable for its national convention, now to hold on March 25.
