Afenifere prays for Tinubu ahead of 2023 presidential poll

Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the Afenifere – a Yoruba social-political group – on Sunday prayed for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The octogenarian Afenifere leader wished Tinubu a successful presidential run. Bayo Onanuga, the director media of the APC presidential campaign council, described the prayer and approval as “the real deal”.

“This is the real deal. The real leader of Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-cultural and political group, Pa Reuben Fasoranti blesses Asíwájú Bola Tinubu and wishes him success in his bid for Nigerian presidency. As Pa Awolowo once taught us, you cannot be a good politician without your home support,” Onanuga said.

Those at the meeting include Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Professor Isaac Adewole, Oba Olu Falae, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, General Alani Akinrinade, General Olu Bajowa, Mr Sola Iji, and Dr Kunle Olajide.

Others are Senator Cornelius Adebayo, Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Chief Bisi Akande, and  Dare Babarinsa. Equally at the event were Chief Pius Akinyelure, Deputy governor of Oyo state, Bayo Lawal, deputy governor of Ondo state, Aiyedatiwa.

TheCornet reports that Afenifere chieftain Ayo Adebanjo is opposed to Tinubu, but declared support for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi. Adebanjo hinged his action on the need for fairness and equity.
