Adeleke sacks three monarchs, 12,000 workers in one fell swoop

Ademola Adeleke, the newly inaugurated governor of Osun state, has sacked three monarchs and 12,000 workers recently employed by his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola.

The affected monarchs are the Ọwá of Igbajo, Aree of Iree, and Akinrun of Ikirun.

Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for Adeleke, said his principal had also reversed civil service appointments done in the twilight of his predecessor’s administration.

According to Rasheed, Adeleke “ issued six executive orders to take immediate effect.

“The Orders signed this morning by His Excellency covered chieftaincy matters, appointment issues, setting up of review panel, staff audit and employment matters. The governor also reversed appointments made by the former governor after July 17, froze the states bank accounts, and he ordered an audit of the civil service employ.

“The Orders signed this morning by His Excellency covered chieftaincy matters, appointment issues, setting up of review panel, staff audit and employment matters,” Rasheed said in the statement.

The governor said it had set up four committees to review, audit appointments/ promotion, state assets inventory and recovery committee, contractors, MouS/agreements review committee, chieftaincy matters/appointment of traditional rulers review committee.
