Adegoke’s brother makes different claims in Adedoyin’s trial

Gbade Adegoke, the elder sibling to slain OAU post-graduate student Timothy Adegoke, admitted making a claim to the court other than what he wrote earlier in his statement to the police.

Gbade had testified that he saw blood stains on the wall in the room his brother lodged at the Hilton Honours Hotel, Ile-Ife.

But, upon cross examination by K. Eleja, SAN, counsel to Ramon Adedoyin, Gbade said he didn’t include the same claim in his police statement.

Also, Gbade told the court that someone had offered him N50 million and the slain Timothy’s wife, N70million to settle the matter. He claimed someone, named Idmund telephoned him and made the offer.

Moreover, Gbade said one of the accused persons, had told the police that the lodgers’ register for the fateful day was doctored.

TheCornet reports that the trial judge Adepele Ojo of the Osun State High Court refused bail for the accused persons, citing the nature of the case.

She adjourned the suit till Tuesday.
