Police begin manhunt for human head buyer

The police in Ogun State have launched a manhunt for a suspected human parts buyer. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the state police command, revealed this following the arrest of six persons who murdered and decapitated a woman. The suspects include an herbalist, Taiwo Ajalorun and his wife, Salawa. Another suspect, Lukman Oladele was equally arrested for his involvement in the murder.

The police said the arrests took place on January 4 after they received complaint about a missing person. According to the statement, Ajalorun lured his lover turned victim, Oyindamola Adeyemi, into his room, where he and his accomplice Oladele murdered and decapitated her.

Worried about Oyindamola’s sudden disappearance, since December 28, 2022, her neighboour Ojo Omolara decided to lodge a complaint with the Obalende police divisional headquarters in Ijebu-Ode.

The police said they began a search for the victim and later discovered her decapitated body by the roadside. The victim’s neighbour, Omolara identified the corpse as that of Oyindamola.

Oyeyemi added the police investigation led them to Ajalorun’s residence. Found in his house during a search were the victim’s mobile phone, a bucket containing human blood. Ajalorun’s arrest, the police said, led them to his accomplice Oladele.

Oladele confessed to the crime and said they sold the victim’s legs and heart for N30,000 and N50,000 respectively to one Hakeem Bello. The police said Bello had been arrested while a manhunt was on for another suspect who bought the victim’s severed head.
