Defendants present fake documents in Sambo Dasuki’s trial

The prosecution in the corruption trial of Sambo Dasuki, a former national security adviser, has alleged that two defendants presented fake documents.

TheCornet reports that Dasuki is being prosecuted for his role in the alleged spending of N22.9billion on arms procurement.

But, the authorities believed the funds were funnelled to prosecute the failed presidential election of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

The two defendants, Isabella Mimie Oshodin and Bob Oshodin Organization Ltd, had testified to be consultants to justify the payments made to them.

Both had equally furnished the court certain documents to back up their claims.

The EFCC said the documents however were however confirmed to be fake.

The investigator of the matter, Edet Jackson, testified before the trial judge, Taiwo Taiwo, that the purported issuer of the documents – the Office of the Special Adviser to President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme – had denied issuing such.

The case continues at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
