Security agents after killers of Ekiti monarchs – Oyebanji

Governor Abiodun Oyebanji has said that security agents have been deployed to go after the armed kidnappers who killed two traditional rulers in Ekiti State on Monday.

The slain monarchs namely the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin; and the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olushola had attended a security meeting, held at Irele-Ekiti.

They were returning from the meeting when they ran into the assailants.

The third victim, the Alara of Ara-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, luckily escaped with his life.

In his statement on Monday, Oyebanji vowed to bring the killers to justice.

“The Governor also urged the people of the two towns to remain calm and refrain from taking the laws into their own hands,” the statement said.

TheCornet gathered that the area where the incident happened comprises swaths of forest land that connects Ekiti to Kogi State and is notorious for such criminal acts.
