Air Force reveals how it killed dozens of terrorists

The Nigerian Air Force has revealed it killed dozens of suspected terrorists in an air raid on their enclaves.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, NAF’s Director, Public Relations and Information, said the Saturday’s attack on terrorists positions took place at Bukar Meram, near the Lake Chad region in Borno State.

Intelligence showed some suspected terrorists relocated recently from Suwa to the Bukar Meram general area.

NAF said it believed the terrorists regrouped to carry out attacks on troops and civilians.

“Feedback received after the strikes revealed the expected outcome was achieved as several terrorists were neutralised while over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks were destroyed,” he said.

Similarly, NAF said that its air strikes killed some terrorists holding up at Maru LGA of Zamfara State, on October 11.

He said the strike hit a terrorists’ convoy of 70 motorcycles travelling from Kabaro to Sangeko.

NAF claimed several terrorists died in the attack and their motorcycles, burnt.

The statement quoted the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, as commending the ground troops and urging them to “stay focused” and avoid being “complacent”, so as to “give our citizens the confidence they deserve to thrive.”
