3 kidnap ringleaders, 7 others arrested in Lagos
Three suspected kidnap ringleaders and seven other have been arrested in the Mushin area of Lagos. Olayinka Egbeyemi, commander of the Rapid Response Squad, a state-funded security network, stated this on Monday.
“The three kingpins and the seven suspects whose identity are still being kept under wraps as a result of continuing investigation were picked up in separate locations in Mushin on Saturday evening.
“The arrest is a follow-up to an earlier discrete investigations by the squad’s Decoy Team to Eko Boys.”
Egbeyemi, during the briefing, added that security agents also seized 29 motorcycles on Friday evening. This, he said, aimed at reducing traffic robberies and in compliance with government directive on restricted routes. The seizure reportedly took place on a restricted BRT lane in Ikeja Along, Ile Zik, and Allen Junction.
