11 rescued from kidnappers, as police storm Abuja forest

At least, eleven persons were reportedly rescued after police stormed a kidnappers’ den, located in a forest in Kuje area of Nigeria’s federal capital territory, Abuja.

DSP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT police command, said the rescue operation took place in Gwargwada community, in Kuje, on February 17, 2022.

She said the police were alerted to a kidnap incident in the community, following which they stormed the area to rescue the victims. The victims, the police said, are receiving medical evaluation and would soon be reunited with their families.
